… who else? It’s your friendly neighbourhood bartenders at The Strait.
In 2016 Old Fashioned Week was launched in Paris by drinks legend Cyrille Hugon and he inexplicably teamed up with The Strait and Narrow to as the sole representatives in the UK. We obviously lept at the chance and based our drinks on the 1984 film Ghostbusters. Cyrille was moved to tears… what kind of tears has been lost in time but it set the standard for us to be the only bar in the UK to participate in every Old Fashioned Week. The criteria? Well our criteria…Seriously good drinks based upon culturally irrelevant, ridiculous and barely comprehensible promos - with giveaways…
Over the years of doing OFW we’ve teamed up with and wasted the promotional budgets of some amazing drinks producers but none more so than Woodford Reserve. Fortunately for us sales are record-breaking so they have little choice but to tolerate our buffoonery and we take the equal challenges of incredible drinks and getting them in all kinds of bother and hilarious jams very seriously.
So - THIS IS NOT AN APRIL FOOLS JOKE! - sit back and take in our greatest hits from the last 10 years from such cultural touchstones as the TV show The Blacklist, Fast and the Furious 6, Anchorman, WWF Wrestling, Ghostbusters, Reservoir Dogs, Into The Spider-verse, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater and everyone’s favourite pandemic Covid-19…

Putty 2026 from Verdant Brewery is coming 23rd January and The Strait is one of the launch venues!
Try the 2026 version of Verdant’s awesome DIPA Putty here first AND we’ll have some cans available for you to take home too.
We’ll be pouring from 6pm…

We get it, after a full on Christmas and New Year on the sauce you may well be looking for some No and Lo alternatives. Well we’ve got everything you need right here at The Strait! We’ve tonnes of alcohol free Cocktails, Beers and even a Cider for you to enjoy, all the flavour without the ABV.
New Year's Eve
You know what you get from us by now - the 100s of beers, cocktails, collabs... basically the best drinks in the UK. Probably Europe. Definitely The UK though right?
It's business as usual here - same fun vibe, same great staff smashing out the drinks. C
No entry fee, no nonsense (except are usual brand) great yikes great drinks.
ALSO as a thanks we're going to give out FREE Lemon Things with every round after 10pm (DO NOT TELL THE OWNERS!) as a thank from the staff to you for giving us the best year yet (out of 13 powerful years that's saying something.)
